Preparation for World Championship season in the Audi wind tunnel
Ingolstadt, September 18, 2012 – Sporty visitors at the Audi wind tunnel center: Four athletes from the German Ski Association (DSV) stopped in Ingolstadt during their preparation for the World Championship season and used the opportunities available at the high-tech facility for an unusual day of training. The turbine has an output of 2.6 megawatts and can thus simulate speeds of up to 300 km/h. In other words, ideal conditions for Tobias Stechert, Andreas Sander, Josef Ferstl and Stephan Keppler to work on optimizing their posture – and without any interfering influences such as sunlight glare, outside temperatures or ski run layout. Audi has been partnering with the DSV for more than 25 years and has meanwhile also become the partner of 14 other alpine national teams that regularly train in Ingolstadt. The new season of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup will start in Sölden at the end of October, culminating in the World Championships in Schladming in February which are presented by Audi as well.
