Ingolstadt/Tokyo/Los Angeles, November 21, 2013
The Tokyo Motor Show and the Los Angeles Auto Show round off this year’s calendar of major motor shows: Audi is presenting its latest product highlights at both events. At Tokyo, the Company is showing the new Audi S8, the Audi A3 Sedan and the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron; at Los Angeles the spotlight will be on the entire Audi A3 family.
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development at AUDI AG, attended both press conferences. At Tokyo and Los Angeles he took the wraps off the new Audi A3 Sportback e-tron: “The Audi A3 e-tron redefines the benchmark as we progress towards the goal of sustainable mobility. It is hard evidence of how we have brought together sporty performance and outstanding efficiency in one and the same car. It offers the customer more in every respect.”
The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron will go on sale in Japan and the United States at the start of 2015. Both countries are important growth markets for Audi. From January through October, Audi achieved double-digit growth rates in both countries (USA +13.4 % to 127,412 deliveries, Japan +15.8 % to 23,148 units sold).
Luca de Meo, AUDI AG Board Member for Sales, presented the new Audi A3 Cabriolet at the Los Angeles Auto Show: “Our latest addition to the Audi A3 family is the only convertible in the compact segment to feature quattro permanent all-wheel drive – making the new A3 Cabriolet both dynamic and immense fun to drive”.
