With the Brussels plant, Audi has secured the critical production capacities that the company requires to continue its growth course. 120,520 Audi A1* cars were produced here in 2013.
With the aim of developing the Brussels plant into one of the most productive sites within the Volkswagen Group, the company has optimised the entire production process on the basis of the Audi Production System (APS). Hence, even external suppliers and service providers are closely integrated into production, in order to improve the process chains. The restructuring process will therefore aim to achieve short throughput times in production, low stock levels in the warehouses and a high ratio of added value.
The Audi Production System, characterized by elements such as teamwork and a continuous improvement process, plays a key role in efficient production and has already been successfully implemented at the Ingolstadt, Neckarsulm and Győr sites.
About 40 Audi A1 cars are produced each hour at the Audi Brussels plant – optimal conditions for the dynamic growth of the brand.
