Audi fields the Audi S1 and the S1 Sportback (7.0 / 7.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers [33.60 / 33.13 US mpg]; 162 / 166 grams of CO2 per kilometer [260.71 / 267.15 g/mile]) with generous standard equipment. In addition to the aforementioned features, the standard specification includes a package of restraint systems with two front airbags, thorax/pelvis side airbags and head airbags. The driver information system includes an efficiency program which helps the driver adopt an economical driving style. Automatic air conditioning and a light/rain sensor also come as standard, along with the door armrests in Mono pur.

A wide array of optional equipment make the two sporty compact cars much more practical, convenient and comfortable. Options include the storage package, luggage compartment package, ski/snowboard bag, front center armrest, steering wheel with flat-bottomed rim, high-beam assist, convenience key, front seat heating, panoramic glass sunroof for the three-door model and tinted rear windows. Two parking system modules and hill hold assist round off the extensive range of options.

The Audi S1 and the S1 Sportback are due to be launched in Germany in the second quarter of 2014. The three-door model costs €29,950, the five-door Sportback €30,800.
