Vehicle handover to FC Bayern Munich

  • New company cars for the record champions at Audi Forum Ingolstadt
  • Bayern stars sign autographs for Audi employees on the Piazza
  • Audi Q7 most popular model among the Munich player

Just a few days before the start of the 2011/2012 season and less than 24 hours after the Audi Cup 2011 final, the players, coach and management of FC Bayern Munich collected their new company cars from Audi. Almost 3,000 fans and Audi employees celebrated Philipp Lahm and company on the Piazza in Ingolstadt. The German record champion stars busily signed autographs and familiarized themselves with their new company cars.

Most popular model among the Bayern stars this season is the Audi Q7 – as many as ten players chose the premium SUV. Striker Mario Gomez for example selected the powerful 500 hp (368 kW) Q7 V12 TDI with Daytona Grey pearl effect paintwork. With immediate effect captain Philipp Lahm drives an A6 3.0 TFSI, his team mate Thomas Müller an RS 5 Coupé 4.2 FSI. Coach Jupp Heynckes in contrast favors, like his forward Gomez, a Q7.

The partnership between Audi and FC Bayern Munich exists now for nine years, the annual vehicle handover is a highlight in the players’ calendar. Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board Sales and Marketing of AUDI AG, and Thomas Sigi, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources at AUDI AG, handed over the keys for the new cars. “We are looking forward to next season with FC Bayern Munich,” said Schwarzenbauer. “With the Audi Cup over the last two days we’ve enjoyed a perfect conclusion to pre-season preparations, now we hand over the new car keys and wish all the players, coaches and management a safe journey and quite obviously lots of goals,” continued Schwarzenbauer.
