Audi Urban Future Award 2012 – Facts

Award giver: AUDI AG

Prize money: 100,000 euros

Theme: The architects’ task is to analyze and describe the greatest challenges (for example population density, increasing digitization, flows of migration or planning processes) in relation to future mobility in their cities. The aim is to produce specific proposals for a transition to sustainable mobility and infrastructure in the framework of the particular conditions in their region. The visions that the architecture offices develop will be explicitly grounded in their local context, but should also provide impulses in the global context.

1. Ingolstadt –  annual press conference of AUDI AG: Announcement of the second Audi Urban Future Award

2. Ingolstadt – Metropolis & Mobility Dialogue
15/16 May, 2012: Internal workshop of the participating architecture offices with Audi-experts and public conference, at which the participating architects presented and discussed initial theses and ideas.

3. Istanbul – Audi Urban Future Award 2012
The exhibition opening, jury meeting and award of the prize will be held parallel to the first Istanbul Design Biennial.
Opening of the exhibition: 11 October, 2012
Duration of the exhibition: 12-26 October, 2012
Jury meeting and award of the prize: 18 October, 2012


Documentation: The progress of the project will be continually documented and reflected online and in print.
