- DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller presented the keys
A partnership with a tradition and a future: Audi and the German Ski Federation (DSV) have extended their collaboration until the 2017/2018 season. The vehicle handover, for which the athletes came together today at the new Audi Gebrauchtwagen :plus Center in Munich, marked the beginning of the 30th joint year of the partners. DTM Champion Mike Rockenfeller presented the keys to the new models and wished the athletes every success for the season.
When it came to choosing their new company cars all athletes and coaches opted for permanent quattro four-wheel drive that displays its superior performance particularly on snow and ice. Felix Neureuther, Björn Kircheisen and Combination head coach Hermann Weinbuch are now driving an A6 Avant TDI. Maria Höfl-Riesch, just like Combination World Champion and World Cup winner Eric Frenzel, selected an Audi RS 6 Avant.
“On extending the agreement, Audi remains one of the most important principal sponsors of the German Ski Federation,” says Alfons Hörmann, President of the DSV. “Over the course of decades, a partnership has developed that is unique in the world of sports. Both parties benefit from this cooperation in a spirit of friendship. This is shown, not least, by the fact that the Audi slogan ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ has become a source of inspiration in a special way for our high-performance athletes.”
