Audi becomes partner of Freeride World Tour

  • Partnership expands winter sports commitment of the brand
  • Six competitions in Europe, Canada and the USA
  • Season opens on December 18

Audi is expanding its commitment in international winter sports. As of the beginning of the season in December, the brand will be a partner of the Freeride World Tour. As before in the case of the Ski Cross World Cup presentation, the brand is also addressing a young target group through the Freeride events.

The partnership has initially been agreed for two years. Audi has been giving its name to the Audi FIS Ski World Cup and the Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup, is a partner of 15 alpine national teams and presenting sponsor of the alpine Ski World Championships. Through the Freeride World Tour commitment Audi is again setting its sights on a young target group.

“The commitment perfectly complements our winter sports program. By presenting the Ski Cross World Cup we’ve started to address a young target group and are now logically continuing to pursue this path with the Freeride World Tour,” says Florian Zitzlsperger, Head of Sport Marketing and Brand Partnerships of AUDI AG. “Impressive pictures, exciting locations and new presentation opportunities for our brand in a fascinating environment – we look forward to the constructive partnership with the Freeride World Tour.”

Nicolas Hale-Woods, founder and General Manager of the Freeride World Tour, says: “The partnership with Audi is great news for the Freeride World Tour. Audi is simply the ideal automobile partner for any type of alpine events. The cars, the image of the brand and the association with winter sports are unique.”

The 2013/2014 season will open in Revelstoke (Canada) on December 18. Five other events in Europe and the USA are scheduled until March. The finale will be held in Verbier (Switzerland) on March 22.
