Dr.-Ing. Frank Dreves - Biography

Frank Dreves was born in Höxter (North Rhine-Westphalia) on August 15, 1952.
After completing his training as a mechanical fitter at Gronemeyer in Höxter, he remained at the company until 1975. He then studied mechanical engineering from 1975 to 1981 at the University of Paderborn.
In 2012 he attained his doctorate in engineering from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Chemnitz.
Dreves began his professional career at AUDI AG in 1982, working initially as a technical specialist in the foundry and plastics hardening shop. From 1985 to 1987 he worked as a planner and group leader in Production Planning.
In 1987 Dreves took up the position of Head of Production Planning (main department Paint Shop/Assembly) at SEAT in Martorell until 1992. Following various tasks in Production Planning in Ingolstadt (Head of Assembly and Body Shop) he was asked to supervise the development of the plant in Curitiba, Brazil as Project Manager.
From 2000 onwards, Dreves was in charge of the Assembly production area in Ingolstadt, and in mid-2001 assumed responsibility for Overall Planning in the Audi Group.
From October 1, 2004 to January 31, 2007, he was Plant Manager at the Audi plant in Ingolstadt.
Dreves has been Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG for Production since February 1, 2007.
