Audi Youth Choir Academy

2011-03-08

AUDI AG has been supporting a broad range of cultural events and institutions over five decades. The company acts as the main sponsor of major festivals such as the Salzburg and Bayreuth Festivals, where the world’s top classical musicians uphold traditions and define important new trends for the future. In the company’s immediate vicinity, Audi is deeply involved in ensuring that there is a lively cultural scene at its locations. For example, in and around its home city Ingolstadt people can enjoy the fruits of its many partnerships with local cultural institutions, as well as the company’s own events such as the Audi Summer Concerts. It places particular emphasis on nurturing cultural values in children and young people. A prime example is the Audi Youth Choir Academy, a project choir for talented singers between the ages of 16 and 27 which prepares a pathway onto the international stage for these young people by employing professional training methods, but with a gentle, continuous approach. In partnership with the conductor Kent Nagano and the Bavarian State Orchestra, the choir will be giving concerts in Tokyo in fall 2011 and a guest performance to Pope Benedict XVI in the Vatican.
